Representatives of Evans Vanodine were honoured to be in the presence of Royalty recently when Chairman Derek Evans and Peter Thompson, international sales manager, visited Buckingham Palace to attend a special business reception and accept an award for International Trade, in recognition of its outstanding overseas sales growth over the last three years.
The pair were part of a group of winning businesses in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2015, invited to attend the reception in recognition of their achievements. Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip were hosting the event and greeted visitors personally. Other members of the Royal Family were also in attendance, including Princess Anne and Prince Andrew.
The company is entitled to use the prestigious Queen’s Awards emblem for five years in recognition of this achievement.
“It was a great honour and a thrill to be at the palace and it is something that I will cherish as a memory,” says Peter Thompson. “The winning of a Queen’s award is a testament to the efforts of the entire company to be the best in our field. Development of our International business is an essential cornerstone on which the future of the business is built and to be recognised with this award is confirmation that we are successful in our efforts to operate on a global scale.”
2015 sees the Queen’s Awards celebrate its 50th Anniversary and as Evans approaches its centenary year it was a privilege for Derek Evans to be able to discuss the company’s history and progress with Her Majesty.
Evans Vanodine currently exports to 72 countries worldwide, with a further 10 countries serviced by licensed manufacturing units overseas. Over the last three years new sales territories have been added, such as New Zealand and South Africa, with the latter noted as being particularly promising.
